Arsenal By Numbers.

Source : http://arsenal-mania.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=111761

Not exactly a game, more like a parlor discussion. Or even a Ray Parlour discussion.

Make your picks for the best player to wear each uniform number (or "squad number," if you prefer) for Arsenal.

I'll start with a list that is far from definitive, since most of you have supported this team for longer than I have, and are likely to remember some players I may have missed.

This list is based on success, longevity, and general we-loved-the-bloke-ness.

1 David Seaman
2 Lee Dixon
3 Eddie Hapgood (had to get one REAL old-timer in there)
4 Patrick Vieira
5 Frank McLintock
6 Tony Adams
7 Robert Pires (Brady wasn't here all that long, remember)
8 George Graham (managing achievement puts him ahead of Wright)
9 John Radford (I could be talked into Ted Drake or Alan Smith)
10 Dennis Bergkamp
11 Charlie George
12 Perry Groves
13 Alex Manninger (fill-in for Seaman, Old Trafford '98)
14 Thierry Henry (Who'd you expect, Martin Hayes?)
15 Ray Parlour
16 Aaron Ramsey
17 Eduardo "Edu" Gaspar
18 Pascal Cygan (until Squillaci's here a while)
19 Jack Wilshere (yes, already)
20 (this space available)
21 (this space available -- can't pick Fabianski yet)
22 Gaël Clichy
23 Andrey Arshavin (hold on, I have a place for Sol)
24 John Lukic (2nd time around)
25 Nwankwo Kanu (NOT Adebayor)
26 (this space available)
27 Emmanuel Eboue
28 Kolo Touré
29 Marouane Chamakh (yes, already)
30 Jeremie Aliadiere
31 Sol Campbell (2010)
32 through 36 (these spaces available)
37 David Bentley (not easy to type while holding your nose)
38 (this space available)
39 (this space available)
40 Kieran Gibbs (due to Kolo having 28)
41 through 51 (these spaces available)
52 Nicklas Bendtner
53 through 56 (these spaces available)
57 Cesc Fábregas (trick question, I suppose)
58 and anything higher (these spaces available)

Reply to "Wenger - We may change style at home"

Arsène Wenger admits he may tweak his tactics in light of Arsenal's recent troubles on home soil.

Newcastle became the second Premier League side this season to leave Emirates Stadium with all three points when they beat Wenger's side 1-0 on Sunday thanks to a first-half header from Andy Carroll.

Yeah. We just had one terrific, fantastic performance since we blasted 6-0 to new promoted side, Blackpool. After that, our performances in own ground seem to be bad. They seem to know how to beat Arsenal in our pitch. Very, very frustrating to see when our players dominated the game, but got nothing. Tactical and style is perhaps to be changed. But, i think the most important thing is our player need to be clinical and learn how to win ugly. In this Premier League, you must have these things if you want to win the league.

Reply to 'You'll see a different Cesc on Wednesday’

Arsène Wenger believes Cesc Fabregas is fully over his hamstring injury.

As a result, the captain will be a different player to the one we have seen in recent weeks when he lines up against Wolves on Wednesday.

Many of us said that he had an awful performance , when Arsenal lost 0-1 suprisingly to Newcastle. We knew he has something wrong with his fitness during the match. He is a real talisman for Arsenal. If he is good, all teammates will be confident and perform better. I hope Cesc to back at his best and helps us to win any games with Arsenal.

Reply to "Walcott enjoying scoring run"

Theo Walcott says it is nice to be getting on the scoresheet so regularly this season, and that he has worked on his finishing in training.

Walcott has seven goals in eight games this season, an improvement from a previously poor scoring record, and he hopes it continues as he claims he sees himself as playing as a striker more in the future.

We need you, Theo. If you are not play against Shakhtar, we will be a real loser. Theo always look dangerous going forward. I don't know about Wenger's plan to pick him as a striker. We all hope he will be our next Henry. For me, Henry is an exceptional player. Nobody can be him. By the way, Theo is also another exceptional player. His pace and finishings are one of the major improvement from him compared to the last season. It will make Capello regret for not pick him to the last World Cup. We are Arsenal fans, hope his performance will be consistent and he will be our key to gain any silverware this season.

Reply to "Fabianski - Focus, hard work got me through"

Confident, commanding and assured, the goalkeeper has become a key figure in the Arsenal side after a number of crucial saves and important performances. The Pole has come through a difficult period stronger for it and he puts his turn-around down to a couple of key factors.

“Even when there was a difficult time for me I was always focused on my job or I was always working hard,” said Fabianski. ”That is the only way I think you can achieve something.

What you can say about him? He deserved to be our new no.1, ahead of Mr. Almunia. Maybe, he is really "turned around the corner" after a few outstanding performances of him since the Chelsea game. Some of us who want to buy Schawarzer as our keeper is just "rubbish". I believe Fabianski has better games so far this season instead of that Fulham's no.1. I am wondering why Wenger always keep him as our keeper. I think he is the dumbest manager i ever see after we all saw his poor performances in the end of the last season. No, I am the dumbest Arsenal fan,  I am sorry! In Arsene We Trust!
